URP-1 packer recovery tool mills and retrieves a packer plug from a casing string during fishing operations in a well.
The tool includes milling unit and engaging unit. The milling unit consists of a sub and washover shoe. The sub connects the unit to the fishing string at the top and and to an extension at the bottom. The sub has a watercourses to maintain circulation.
The engaging unit is a catch sleeve with J-pins. The catch sleeve consists of a sub, a body, a rod and J-pins. The catch sleeve passes through the bore of the packer. After the washover shoe mills away the slips of the packer, the loosen packer goes down and gets engaged by the catch sleeve. Then, the string with engaged packer is pulled out of hole. To remove cuttings, install junk sub above the recovery tool.
